Faye Phelps Carvan
ENID–Faye Phelps Carvan, 72, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Enid. Rev. Marty Evans and Rev. Truman Scarborough will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation is today 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Carvan, born March 20, 1936, to the late Edward and Stella Smith Phelps in Panola County, was a retired LPN and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Louis Phelps, Audley “Jake” Phelps and Lucius Bernard Phelps.
Survivors include: her husband, Homer Afton Carvan Sr. of Enid; two daughters, Emily Carvan Goff of Bartlett, Tenn. and Estelle Carvan Frame of Enid; four sons, Chris Carvan of Enid, Bill Frost of Millington, Tenn., David Frost of Bartlett, Tenn. and Homer A. Carvan Jr. of Gulf Shores, Ala.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Nicholas Edward Woods
BATESVILLE–Nicholas Edward Woods, 26, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation is today 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.
Woods, born Nov. 24, 1981, to Charles Woods and Anita Avery Parker, both of Batesville, was a construction worker for Rush Construction.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Herman Avery and Othur Woods.
Survivors along with his parents include: his wife, Amy Putman Woods of Sardis; one sister, Abby Coleman of Sardis and his grandmothers, Elizabeth Avery of Batesville and Clemmie Woods of Batesville.
