The North Delta Jr. High Lady green Wave competed in the Magnolia Heights team camp June 2-5 and came away with the tournament championship. North Delta, playing without five of its returning ninth graders, defeated Marshall Academy, 49-39 for the title.
The Lady Wave fielded a team composed of 11 seventh graders and two ninth graders.
“I was extremely proud of the effort all the young ladies gave through this week,” said head coach Phil Douglas. “Playing six games a day is tough, especially in the heat. We really grew as a team and got better as the week progressed.”
The Jr. High Lady wave will also particiapte in a team camp at Madison-Ridgeland June 23-26.
