Carol Pilgrim Conley

COMO–Carol Pilgrim Conley, 51, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, as a result of an automobile accident.

Services were Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg. Graveside services were at Sallis Cemetery. Glenwood Funeral Home had charge.

Conley, born Jan. 8, 1957, to Jim and Sarah Pilgrim of Vicksburg, graduated from Delta Academy and the University of Mississippi. She helped develop, Conley Precision Cartridge Company, along with her husband, Kole Conley of Como.

Survivors along with her parents and husband include: one son, Bryce Conley; one daughter, Whitney Conley of Como and one brother, Stevan Pilgrim of Montgomery, Texas.


Mary Lucille Franks Farris

BATESVILLE–Mary Lucille Franks Farris, 94,  died Thursday, April 17, 2008, in the Batesville Specialty Hospital at Tri-Lakes.

Services were Saturday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. Dr. Greg Johnston officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Farris, born April 6, 1914, in Crittenden County, Ky., to the late Henry Harold and Grace Taylor Franks, was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church .

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Blackhawk Farris.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Farris Crawford of Batesville and Elizabeth Lee Farris Agee and husband, Robert of Memphis; one son, John R. Farris and wife, Ann of Batesville; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.


Jamie William Gant

GRENADA–Jamie William Gant, 33, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at his residence.

Services were Thursday at Faith Baptist Church in Lambert. Burial was in Lambert Cemetery. Raymond Roberson, James Clemmer and Chris Owensby officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Gant, born Dec. 16, 1974, attended Way of Life Ministries and was a self employed business contractor working in Batesville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy William Gant.

Survivors include: his parents, Bill Smith and Irene Gant Smith of Lambert; his wife, Landis Crouch Gant of Grenada; four sons, William Spencer Gant, Jamie William Gant Jr., Stephen Glenn Crouch and Dillion Liles Jacks, all of Grenada; two daughters, Kaitlin Raymond and Lori Allison Jacks of Grenada; two brothers, Jimmy DeWayne Gant of Lawrenceville, Ga., Tommy Joe Gant of Kennesaw, Ga.; five step-brothers, Tim Smith, Johnny Smith, David Smith, Billy Byrd and Bobby Byrd, all of Melrose Park, Ill. and one sister, Melinda Mills of Marks.
