The district match up between South Panola High and Columbus High has been rescheduled for today at 4 p.m.
The doubleheader has been postponed two other dates due to inclement weather. The games were to take place Thursday but was moved to Friday due to the predicted rainstorm.
The rain did not materialize in Columbus until Friday.
Today’s game with Brandon has been canceled. The Tigers will also host Tupelo in a makeup game Thursday at 5 and 7 p.m.
Friday, the Tigers are scheduled to play Southaven in non-district action. The status of that game will not be known until late Thursday.
Southaven and Horn Lake will play Thursday night for place in the playoffs. If Southaven wins, there is a chance that will be the team South Panola will play in the playoffs and the Friday game will be canceled, according to South Panola head coach Patrick Robey.
If Southaven loses, the game will be played Friday Robey said, as that will be Southaven’s final game of the season.
Desoto Central will play Clinton on South Panola fields at 11 a.m. Saturday. South Panola and Clinton will play after that game.
This past Saturday, South Panola traveled to Water Valley for non-district action. South Panola fell to Water Valley 10-9, despite hitting four homeruns.
“We were still rusty and it showed,” Robey said. “We walked guys at key times. We didn’t get timely hits when we needed them.”
Hitting homeruns for the Tigers were Ethan Bright, two; Corbin Moore and Tyler Benson, one each.
