ND sweeps Winona

The North Delta basketball teams swept the teams from  Winona Christian Thursday night.

The junior high girls won 37-8. Eight Lady Green Wave contributed to the scoring. North Delta held Winona scoreless in the first quarter, 17-0 and led 24-4 at halftime.

Katelyn Still was the leading scorer with nine points, six rebounds and four steals followed by Bradi Beard with seven points, three rebounds and two assists. Other scorers include Jordan Pointer, 5 points, 5 rebounds; Hanna Greenlee, 4 points, 2 rebounds; Kendall Morrow, 4 points,3 rebounds, 2 assists; Sara Waldrip, 4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals; Charla Shea Darby, 3 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals; and Laci Dubravec, 2 points, 2 assists.

The junior high boys won 61-26. Tres Brasell led with 18 points, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Also scoring in double figures was Jim Tom Copeland with 14 points and five rebounds.

Other scorers include Matthew Barefoot, 7 points; Corbin Baker, 6 points; Bryan Nickle and Bailey Guckert, 4 points each; and Hunt Howell, 2 points.

The varsity girls won 55-32. They led 14-4 at the end of the first quarter and 26-15 at halftime.

Sara Waldrip led in scoring with a double-double 18 points, 13 rebounds followed by Lauren Kimzey with 10. Other scorers include Hannah Greenlee, 9 points; LIndsey Hebert, 7 points; Madison Greenlee, 5 points; Beard, Darby and Samantha Massoth, 2 points each.

The varsity Green Wave boys rounded out the evening with a 67-51 win.

The Green Wave was led in scoring by the late Michael Johnson with 22 points, 8 rebounds and three blocks, followed by Taylor Herron, 14 points, 6 rebounds; Geri Lamm, 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals; and John Terry Moore, 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Other scorers inlcude Hunter West 4 points; and Bateman Greenlee, 3 points.
