Tigers fall to Grenada

By Myra Bean
No matter what South Panola boys tried, they could not get over the Grenada Chargers.

Grenada shut down the Tigers 62-50 in non-conference action. It does not get any easier for the Tigers as they host the No. 1 ranked Starkville Yellowjackets (16-0) tonight in district action.

Against Grenada, Antonio Allen was the only Tiger to score in double figures with 23 points. Grenada held a 30-22 lead at halftime.

The Tigers came out flat in the third quarter and were outscored 16-9. They rallied in the fourth to outscore Grenada 17-16, but it was too little too late.

C.J. Raynor contributed nine points to the score, followed by Rico Keys with eight.

Tipoff for tonight’s game follows the women’s game at 6 p.m.
