Douglas Wayne Tutor, 63

Douglas Wayne Tutor, a skilled carpenter who touched the lives of many, passed away on May 25, 2024, in Courtland,  after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Sept. 24, 1960, in Marks .

Douglas was a beloved son of William Jewel Tutor and Nellie Mavis Tims Tutor. He is now reunited in peace with his parents. He is also preceded in death by his siblings Billy Tutor, David Tutor, Myra Wright, Bonnie Daugherty, and Sherry Darby.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Doug Tutor, Jr. (Tiffany), Tiffany Hudson (Rocky), Sean Tutor (Megan); siblings: Rita Cook, Diana Cook, Bobby Tutor, Tony Tutor, Danny Tutor, Ginger Redgeway, Ronnie Tutor; along with 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Douglas will be fondly remembered during a visitation service on Tuesday, May 28,  from noon to 1 p.m. at Bethany Independent Baptist Church  in Courtland. This will be followed by a memorial service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the same location. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

With his hammer silent and hands at rest, Douglas leaves behind a legacy of hard work and love that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he find eternal peace in the hands of the divine.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
