Lorraine Tramel, 92, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at her home in near Batesville. She was the widow of James Edward “Doc” Tramel, Jr.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2,  at Shady Grove Baptist Church with interment  at the church cemetery. 

The family received friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. 

Lorraine was born Feb. 12, 1929, to the late Jesse and Gladys Bramnoz Sorrells in Batesville. She was a retired office manager from the MS State Tax Commission Office. 

Lorraine was a faithful member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. She loved gardening and being outside in her yard. 

The family left behind to cherish her precious and loving memory includes her son, James Edward Tramel, III of Snellville, GA; one sister, Gertrude Sorrells of Little Rock, AR; 4 grandchildren whom she adored, James Edward Tramel, IV, George Erikson Tramel, Emily Ray Tramel, and Christopher Hunter Tramel; one great-grandchild, Jaden Ray Fain. 

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward “Doc” Tramel, Jr.; her daughter, Judith Carole Conner; and two granddaughters, Jenny and Julie Conner.
