Black History Month Event Being Held Sunday
Rev. Smith will lead program

The Panola County NAACP will sponsor its annual African American History Celebration to recognize the great unsung African American heroes and historymakers on Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Sardis District Building.
Rev. L.C. Smith, the pastor of Olive Ray M.B. Church at Plum Point, will be the main speaker. This is the organization’s gathering held each February for Black History Month.
Gloria Tucker, president of the local branch, said special recognition this year will be focused on all pastors, evangelists, government officials, captains of industry, and medical professionals in the community.
All are cordially invited, she said. The event will begin at 4 p.m.
