The following cases were heard in Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday,March 6, with Judge Jay Westfaul presiding.

Prior to the court docket being read, Judge Westfaul swore in James Ethan Blount, Donnell Chapman and Derrick Shawn as newest members of the Batesville Police Department.

Cyrus J. Butler, Jr. 430 Tubbs Rd., Batesville, pleaded guilty to public profanity and fined $225.

Lauren B. Jaudon, 238 Hickory Lane W., Sardis, failed to appear on charges of possession of paraphernalia, speeding, no proof of insurance and no drivers license. An arrest warrant was issued.

Rebecca Mayer, 1216 Terza Rd., Batesville, pleaded guilty to possession of paraphernalia, driving with a suspended drivers license, no tag, and no proof of insurance with a fine totaling $1,397.

Rashawn Flowers, 146 Otto Sanford Rd., Courtland, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana in a vehicle, driving with a suspended drivers license, no proof of insurance and careless driving along with old fines totaling $2,240.

Curtis J.Arnold, Jr., 425 Dewberry St., Sardis, had a charge of domestic violence dismissed due to lack of prosecution.

Qwindredrous Ellis, 111 Lester St., Batesville, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana in a vehicle, possession of paraphernalia and improper equipment along with unpaid fines totaling $1,938.

Mary Webb, 209 Draper St., Batesville, pleaded guilty to false pretenses and was fined $368.

Mason Allen, 713 Chapel Hill, Rd., Pope, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was fined $1,146.

Vickie P. Russell, 31374 Blackjack Rd., Batesville, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was fined $1,146.

Jasmine A. Coleman, 292 Lamb Ave., Crowder, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was fined $1,146.

Jerry Martin, 242 MLK, Batesville, pleaded guilty to DUI and was fined $779.

Gregory W. Fondren, 179 Jones St. Ext., Batesville, pleaded guilty to non-payment of old fines totaling $536.

Twonias Flowers, 6462 Barnacre Rd., Batesville, pleaded guilty to non-payment of old fines totaling $2,498.

Jermarcus D. Nelson, 201 Atkins St., Apt. 7, Sardis, pleaded guilty to non-payment of old fines, speeding and driving with a suspended drivers license and was fined a total of $2,392.

Tabatha D. Pittman, 206 James St., Batesville, pleaded guilty to non-payment of old fines totaling $2,408.

Ryan L. Whitehead, 390 Flowers Rd., pleaded guilty to non-payment of old fines totaling $2,257.

Carlos Hooks, 219 Noble St., Batesville, failed to appear on contempt of court charges.

Jemero Carter, 26 CR 1029, Oxford, failed to appear on contempt of court charges.

Demario C. Davis, 1524 CR 232, Oxford failed to appear on contempt of court charges.

Alison Abernathy, 355 Heafner Rd., Batesville, had charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, simple possession of a controlled substance and shoplifting bound over to the Grand Jury.

In cases set for trial,

Shakiya A. Brown, 2537 Chapel Town Rd., Courtland, was found guilty of running a stop sign and fined $181.

Allison T. Rose, 3572 Mt. Olivet Rd., Batesville, was found guilty of simple possession of marijuana and speeding and was fined $595
