It’s a Wonderful Life
Panola Playhouse, continuing its tradition of bringing a holiday classic to the Sardis stage each December, tonight will open “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.”
A twist has been thrown in to bring the classic movie to life: it’s being staged as a 1940s-style “live radio broadcast,” with actors portraying numerous characters.
The play is directed by Ashley Davis Scott. The cast includes Lainey Brock, Dustin Peasley, Matt Saye, Caren Watts, John Ross Graham, Yazmine Lynch and Greg Earnest.
“It’s a Wonderful Life” is about the life of George Bailey, a generous and well-meaning man who has become too downcast and tired to continue living. It will take help from a lovable angel to show George what life would have been like if he wasn’t born, bringing a change of heart and a happy ending.
Weekend performances will be presented December 2-11, with curtains going up Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and on Sundays at 2 p.m.
There will be a special Pay What You Can Night on Thursday, December 8 at 7 p.m. No reservations needed for this performance.Tickets, $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, can be reserved at www.panolaplayhouse.com
