Partnership seeking ways to help workers after plant closure

Panola Partnership, Inc. is in contact with local representatives at Batesville Casket Company and representatives from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security to discuss plans to assist local workers in returning to the workforce when the plant closes in March of 2017.
Panola Partnership is also coordinating with the Mississippi Development Authority to assist in finding a new business to occupy the building and create jobs in Panola County.
“Batesville Casket Company has been a strong community partner for over 28 years and we are saddened by this news,” said  Dale Hart, Executive Board President of the Panola Partnership.
“However, this development will not deter us as we continue to do what we can to make this transition easy for our citizens. As always, our goal is to continually move Panola County forward and to help improve the quality of life in our community.”
