Bessie Campbell
Mrs. Bessie Campbell passed away at the Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven. on Friday November 4, 2016.
Visitation will be at Eddie Robinson Funeral Home Chapel Friday from 1 to 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be at the Mt. Moriah Association Building in Coffeeville Saturday at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Moorse Chapel Cemetery in Coffeeville.
Bertha Mae Davis
SARDIS––Bertha Mae Davis, 73, died Friday, November 4, 2016, at her residence.
Services will be held Saturday at noon at Mt. Level M.B. Church in Como. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Mt. Level Cemetery.
Davis was a Head Start teacher.
Reba H DeVeny
Reba H. DeVeny, 83, died Monday, November 7, 2016 at her home in Batesville.
Funeral services were incomplete at press time. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Jimmie E. Ellis
Jimmie E. Ellis, 45, died Friday, November 4, 2016 at Methodist Healthcare in Memphis.
Ellis was born September 22, 1971 to the late Nathaniel Ellis and Albertha Pride Ellis.
Visitation will be Friday at Henderson Funeral Home in Sardis from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at Batesville Intermediate School Saturday at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Shiloh Church in Sardis.
Mary L. Ford
BATESVILLE––Mary L. “Moonie” Ford, 80, died Wednesday, November, 2, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shiloh M.B. Church in Courtland. Pastor Carl Brown will officiate. Burial will be held at Shiloh Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.
John Thomas Hentz
Courtland–John Thomas “J. T.” Hentz died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at North Delta Hospice in Southaven.
Visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 12 at 2:30 p.m. at Batesville Junior High School. Pastor Nehemiah Martin will officiate.
Interment will be at Spring Hill Pope Cemetery.
Hentz was born September 6, 1935 to the late John Thomas Hentz Sr. and Artessia Leland Hentz. Hentz was a retired railroad worker for CN Railroad and a member of Spring Hill Pope M.B. Church. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #12 Rock Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Claude Cox of Courtland; five sons, Fredrick Hentz and Harry Joe Hentz of Courtland, Robert Hentz and Johnny Robertson of Batesville, Willie James Lee of Sardis; one daughter, Bettye Lee Griffin of Milwaukee; one brother, James W. Hentz of Chicago; one sister, Johnnie Lee Warren of Batesville; 25 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Hoby Roy McCullar
Mr. Hoby Roy McCullar, 54, of Batesville, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at his home.
Hoby was born in Batesville on September 13, 1962, to Martha Robison McCullar and the late Roy Davis McCullar, Jr.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Batesville. A retired lineman for TVEPA, he was very mechanically inclined, could repair anything motorized or electrical and was a perfectionist at his work. He was a humble, kind and generous person, with a big heart and a very good sense of humor.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Robison McCullar of Batesville and two sisters, Cathy McCullar Jackson (Edward) of Heathrow, Fla. and Cheryl McCullar Davis (Wade) of Batesville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah McCullar and his father, Roy Davis McCullar, Jr.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, November 9 in the chapel of Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville.
