Richard L. Ard

Richard L. Ard, 71, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Services were held Sunday, September 4, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl.
Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Valerie Ard; son, Donald Richard Ard; daughter, Michelle Grice (Steve); brothers, J.W. Ard (Vera) and Benny Ard; sisters, Brenda Coomer, Ollie Garner, Virginia Ridgeway, and Linda Williams; grandchildren, Madison Ard, Cody Grice, Dalton Ard, and Hunter Grice; and great-grandchild, Aubrey Ella Ard.

George William Butler Jr.

George William Butler, Jr., 72,  passed away Friday morning, September 2, 2016, at his summer retreat in Kalispell, MT.
Butler resided in Brandon and loved to go hunting and fishing with his brothers.  He loved to hike the mountain trails and raft the rivers of Montana with his friends during the summer.
George was born November 11, 1943, to the late George William Butler, Sr. and Charlie Taylor Ming Butler of Batesville. He was the grandson of the late William Henry Ming and Effie Taylor Ming of Batesville.  
Butler was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Bess Watson Butler and his sister Judith Butler Elliott.  He leaves behind brothers Will Ming Butler of Brandon and John Dudley Butler of Benton.
Butler graduated from Batesville High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University and a Master’s degree from Auburn University.
As Butler wished, his ashes will be scattered in the mountains of Glacier National Park and on the farm of his brother, Dudley, in Benton.
Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Butler’s name.

Anquinette Cannon Cobb

Anquinette Cannon Cobb passed away, Friday, September 9, 2016.
Arrangements were not available at press time and will be published as they become available.

Betty Ann Gurley

Mrs. Betty Ann Gurley, age 74, passed away Thursday night September 8,  2016, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. The family received friends at a catered reception on Saturday September 10 in the Chapel of Kimbro Funeral Home. An additional visitation was held on Sunday September 11 at Marks First Baptist Church until service time at 2 p.m.
Interment followed at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Clarksdale.
Mrs. Gurley, a retired store owner for Gurley’s Inc. in Marks, was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Betty is survived by her husband, Frank Gurley of Marks; two daughters, Robyn (Mark) Williams of Marks, and Kristy (Cliff) Heffner of Marks; four sons, Rusty (Terri) Gurley of Batesville, Bill (Carol) Gurley of Marks, Freddie Gurley of Marks, Ty (Ali) Gurley of Marks; one sister, Jimmie Faye (William) Sneed of Darling; 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dempsey and Lorine Pierce, and one daughter, Margie Gurley.

Linda Sue Britt Haney

CLEVELAND––Linda Sue Britt Haney, age 73, passed away on Friday, September 09, 2016 at the Indywood Estates in Cleveland.
Services were held Sunday, September 11 at Cleveland Funeral Chapel.  Burial was held at the Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville.
Linda was born on July 07, 1943 to Alton Haywood and Mary (Sappington) Britt, Sr. in Rosedale, MS.  She Graduated Valedictorian from Rosedale High School in 1961 and attended Delta State College. Linda married Gary Franklin Haney on December 01, 1967.
Linda was a lifelong administrative assistant having worked at Ford Motor Company, Yale Street Baptist Church, Cleveland High School and Delta State University. She retired from the Mississippi State Extension Office after 25 years of State Employment. She had a gift of working with young people and spent many years as a youth leader at Yale Street Baptist Church. Her ability to communicate and love those kids gave her great joy. Linda had an incredible life with her family, having loved her husband, daughters and grandchildren deeply. Her greatest joy came with the arrival of her granddaughters.  Linda loved to travel having sailed on 14 cruises and traveling coast to coast visiting with her family so she would not miss valuable time with them.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Alton Haywood Britt, Sr. and Mary Jerdon Sappington Britt. 
She is survived by Husband of 49 years, Gary Haney of Cleveland; daughters, Melissa Haney (Stan) Sullivant of Batesville, and Teressa Haney Oakes of Cleveland; brother, Haywood Britt of Melbourne, Ark.; three granddaughters, Sydney Claire Sullivant, Erin Oakes and Olivia Oakes.
Pallbearers were Heath Boyer, Blake Boyer, Troy Haney, Greg Haney, Woody Britt, Latham Britt and Mark Haney.

Tiffney Gayle Moore

BATESVILLE––Tiffiney Gayle Moore, 45, passed away Sunday morning, September 11, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park.
Tiffiney was born March 2, 1971, in Tunica, to the late Clyde Thomas Mangrum and the late Glenda Baldwin.
Tiffiney enjoyed life. She was interested in crafts, sewing, do-it-yourself projects, and most of all loving her children. She was a member of First Faith Baptist Church.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include: her husband, David Moore of Batesville; children: Holly Renee’ Herrin of Batesville, Patrick Thomas Herrin (Kourtni) of Batesville; her step-children, Phillip Moore and Jason Moore, both of Batesville and Josh Moore of Memphis; two sisters, Terri Lynn Howard of Como and Amanda Massey (Phillip) of Southaven; her stepfather, Roger Baldwin of Olive Branch, and two step-grandchildren.
