Warrants issued for failures-to-appear in Municipal court

Judge Jay Westfaul had a few fail to appear during Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday, despite the short docket.
Michael Ballentine, East Lee Street, Sardis, had a warrant issued after he failed to appear to answer charges for shoplifting and also failing to appear in court July 27.
Michael J. Harris, 227 Van Voris, Batesville, failed to appear to answer shoplifting, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct-failure to comply and public drunk charges. Fox bonding was notified.
Deandre D. Cole, 112 Williams St., Batesville, failed to appear to answer charges for disorderly conduct-failure to comply, reckless driving, driving while license suspended and old fines of $3,339. Fox Bonding was notified.
Sherman L. Clemons Jr., 1734 163rd St., San Leandro, Calif., bonded out prior to court for two counts of felony false pretenses and was referred to the Grand Jury.
Jessica D. Smallie, 206 Sherwood Dr., Batesville, entered a not guilty plea to possession of marijuana in a vehicle and speeding. A trial was set for August 31.
Brandon M. Cauthen, St. Louis, had a trial set for September 7 after entering not guilty pleas to disorderly conduct-failure to comply, resisting arrest, and failure to stop when officer signals.
He entered a guilty plea to possession of marijuana in a vehicle and speeding. The judge told the defendant they would handle the fines and entire case at his court hearing.
Keith L. Harmon, 201 Jones St., Batesville, owes $265 in old fines after serving 19 days in jail for old fines of $930 due since February 2015. He was given credit for the time he served in jail and ordered to have the rest paid in full.
Latisha S. Curry, 207 Fisher St., Batesville, was sentenced to time served for old fines of $348 due since August 2015.
