Henry Hamilton

SARDIS––Henry Hamilton, 74, died Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Green M.B. Church in Sardis. Burial will be in Pleasant Green Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home has charge.
Hamilton was born April 5, 1942, to the late Robert Hamilton and Queen Ramsey Hamilton.

Margaret Price

Margaret Price, 73, of Sardis, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Sardis Community Nursing Home.
Margaret Price was born on March 29, 1943 in Sardis, to the late Eva Guyer Price and Carl William Price. She was always happy and loved everyone. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sardis where she was a faithful and devoted Christian who loved her church.  
She is survived by her sisters, Emily Appleton of Sardis, and Ann Woodard (Chester) of Batesville; and her brother, Carol Price of Sardis.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Bernice Burns; and three brothers, Edward Price, Harrell Price, and Fred Price.
 Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11a.m. in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home with Hal Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Sardis.  
Visitation will be held on Friday from 9-11am in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 108 West Lee St., Sardis, Miss. 38666 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alice Smith Neal, 67, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North MS in Oxford.
 Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oxford.  
She was born June 22, 1948 to Lou Alice Nason Smith and Walker Hassell Smith.
 She was an active member of Sardis Lake Baptist Church, where she was always willing to serve in any capacity she was needed.   
A devoted educator, she was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in West Memphis, AR, Munford, TN, Coldwater, MS, and was a substitute teacher at Senatobia City Schools in Senatobia, MS.
She also loved reading, camping and the outdoors and was a member of The Wesley Foundation.
 She attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College, Lambuth College in Jackson, Tenn., where she received a B.S. degree and Bethel College in McKenzie, Tenn., where she received a M.S. degree.
 Mrs. Neal is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth “Isa” Beaulieu (Brian) of Starkville; one son, James Allen Stratton of Millington, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Jan Daugherty of Sardis, and Joanne Woolbrink of Oxford; two sisters, Walker Sahag (Ray) of New Orleans, La. and Jane McLin of Gainesville, Fla.;  brother, Roy Hunt of Gainesville, Fla. and one granddaughter, Lily Beaulieu.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Neal, and her parents, Lou Alice Nason Smith and Walker Hassell Smith, and her mother, Jane Smith.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Sardis Lake Baptist Church.   Ray-Nowell Funeral Home – Senatobia Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Latitia Davis

Former Tri-Lakes Medical Center Director of Nursing Latitia Davis died Thursday at her home in Smyrna, TN.
Davis also worked as a nurse at the old South Panola Community Hospital in Batesville. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Davis. Arrangements were incomplete at presstime. A complete obituary will be published in the June 21 edition.
