“This is why we work hard,” said South Panola head women’s basketball coach Jemmye Ann Helms.
Helms opened the ceremony for senior Jasmine Wright to sign a national letter of intent to play basketball at East Mississippi Community College on Friday.
“At the end of the day, someone will pay for your school. All the work, sacrifice and practice pays off,” Helms said.
Surrounded by fellow players and family, Wright signed with East Mississippi over Holmes and Northwest.
Wright said East Mississippi will get her physically and mentally prepared to play on the next level and will also push her to keep her grades up.
This past playoff season, Wright averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds and five assists per game.
