Food distribution planned March 15 at Cistern Hill Church in Como

Cistern Hill Baptist Church in Como will again host a Mobile Food Pantry distribution March 15 from 1-3 p.m.
Free frozen meats, fresh produce, bread, and other items will be handed out in a drive-through event sponsored by nine churches in the North Panola area through a partnership with the Mid-South Food Bank in Memphis.
At its January distribution the group served 335 households.
Vouchers for the groceries will be distributed in screenings to be held prior to the event. Pre-screenings will be held at Cistern Hill February 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on March 9 from 2-6 p.m., and at Sardis United Methodist Church February 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Only those holding vouchers will be served. No vouchers will be available on the day of the distribution.
The North Panola Church Collaborative raises funds and purchases the food from the Mid-South Food Bank which sends a truck loaded with the food to Como, where volunteers sort, package and hand it out.
Sponsoring churches are Cherry Street Baptist Church,Cistern Hill Baptist Church, Como Baptist, Como C.M.E., Como United Methodist Church, Hammond Hill Baptist, Holy Innocents Episcopal Church, Sardis United Methodist Church and Wesley Chapel Methodist.
