Freddie M. Bibbs
MARKS––Dossie Pettit, 89, died Thursday, September 3, 2015 in Charleston.
Services were held Saturday. at Kimbro Funeral Home. Burial was in Marks Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Pettit was a farmer and an avid fisherman, hunter and card player.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Nell Pettit, his parents, Jud and Minnie Pettit, daughter Sherry Cordel.

Survivors include: daughters, Cathy Pettit of Batesville, Kaye Pettit of Charleston; sons Rick Pettit of Oxford, Duane Pettit of Crowder, Mike Pettit of Crowder, Steve Pettit of Batesville; sister, Mattie Mills of Okolona; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

J. C. Shields
SARDIS––J.C. Shields, 70, died Saturday, September 1, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi. He was the husband of Sandra Shields of Sardis.

Services were held Friday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Cold Springs Cemetery. Reverend Gary Stevens officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Shields, born June 10, 1945 tot he late Alvin Shields and Lena Augusta Potts Shields in Panola County.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Shields of Sardis; two sons, John Shields of Effingham, Ill., and Matthew Shields of Ecru; four sisters, Mary Ann Kuehl of Crystal Lake, Ill., Joyce Brown of Sardis, Michelle Shields and Kathy Melton both of Batesville; five brothers, Harvey Shields of Trenton, Tenn., James Robert Shields of Paris, Tenn., and Ricky Shields, Terry Shields, and Leslie Shields, all of Batesville and five grandchildren. 

Katherine Lynn Wilson
BATESVILLE––Katherine Lynn Wilson, 45, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Merit Health Center.

Services were held Saturday at Cooley’s Mortuary in Batesville. Burial was in Peach Creek Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary had charge.

Wilson, born Nov. 25, 1969, in Batesville, to Aubrey C. Ray and Mary Elizabeth Ray of Water Valley, was a homemaker.

Survivors along with her mother include: her husband, Archie Glenn Wilson of Sardis; one son, Archie Earl Wilson of Sardis; two daughters, Jessica Lynn Wilson Griffin and Tema Ruth Wilson Tutor, both of Batesville and five grandchildren, Tristan Tutor, Dalten Tutor, Carsen Tutor, Braxten Tutor and Addisen Tutor.
