Cougars fall to Lions in season opener

Turnovers and penalties spelled doom for North Panola as the Cougars fell 36-14 to Rosa Fort in the 2015 home opener Friday night.
 North Panola turned the ball over six times and was penalized 15 times for 110 yards. Justin Connor led the Cougars with 135 yards on 26 carries and one touchdown. Trai Sanders added ten carries for 51 yards while Marvin Adams chipped in with nine carries for 33 yards.
 The Cougars other touchdown came in the third quarter as freshman quarterback Kenneth Jefferson hit Kiron Covington on a 57-yard scoring strike. Sylvonta Oliver registered a fumble recovery while Kerdariel Preston intercepted a pass for the North Panola defense.
