Nurse practitioner Magan Shipp joins staff at Batesville Clinic

Batesville Clinic owners and physicians Dr. David Ball and Dr. Lee Linder have announced that Family Nurse Practitioner Magan Lawrence Shipp has joined their practice.

“She will be assisting me with seeing patients daily while growing her own practice,” Linder said. “She is well-trained and will be an asset to our clinic and community.

Shipp also joins Family Nurse Practitioner Beth Thomas who works with Dr. Ball.

Shipp is a 2004 graduate of North Delta School and a 2009 Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate of Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis. She recently completed graduate studies with honors at Delta State University with a Master of Science in Nursing — Family Nurse Practitioner.

“I find it very fulfilling to come back and home and take care of people in my own community,” Shipp said.

The new FMP worked five years at Baptist Memorial Hospital — North Mississippi in a variety of specialty areas including women’s health/OB-GYN, pediatrics, outpatient surgery, finishing as head nurse of the Rehab Unit.

Shipp is a member of the Mississippi Nurse’s Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society and the Batesville First United Methodist Church.

She is the daughter of Preston and Darlene Lawrence and is married to Blake Shipp. They are parents of a four-year-old son, Preston Blake Shipp.

Batesville Clinic at 107 Eureka Street was founded in 1948.
