New town attorney begins work at today’s meeting

By John Howell
Como’s mayor and aldermen at a special called meeting Thursday, May 7, hired Southaven attorney Revonda L. Griffin as town attorney.

Griffin was one of two applicants interviewed during an executive session at the meeting. She will begin her duties May 12 at the regularly scheduled Second Tuesday meeting of the board of mayor and aldermen.

Following Thursday’s special called meeting, Mayor Everette Hill said Tuesday’s business will include discussion and awarding the bid for the grant-funded project to renovate Elder Frank Ward Street. Officials will also discuss contacting owners of overgrown property that needs to be cleaned up in the town.
