Rev. Wesley Lee King
BATESVILLE––Rev. Wesley Lee King, 77, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the VA Hospital in Memphis.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Michael King will officiate. Visitation will be held today 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Burial will be in West Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery.
King, born Jan. 3, 1937, to the late Odis King and Elizabeth Blaylock, was a retired truck driver and security guard. He was a member of Coleman Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: one son, Antwaun Hardin of Memphis; three daughters, Charlotte King of Montevello, Ala., Denise King of Batesville and Kimberly Hardin of Memphis and four step-daughters, Yvette Hardin, Laverne Hardin and Sharon Warfield and Betty Cooper, all of Memphis; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

David Garner Smith
OAKLAND––David Garner Smith, 93, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his residence. He was the owner of Smith Tile Company.
Services were held Wednesday at Womble Funeral Home in Charleston. Rodney Manelli officiated. Burial was in Charleston Cemetery. Womble Funeral Home had charge.
Smith, born Jan. 7, 1922, in Tallahatchie County, to the late David Jackson Smith and Lela Vivian Epperson Smith, was a WWII Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorris Aline Draper Smith.
Survivors include: three daughters, Anne Wilson of Oakland, Garner Smith of Memphis and Frances Harmon of Nederland, Texas; one son, David Earl Smith of Oakland; two sisters, Mary Brunson of Bartlett, Tenn. and Elizabeth Nichols of Doddsville; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Lisa Stark Melton
BATESVILLE–Lisa Stark Melton, 43, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto.
Services were held Monday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville.
Melton, born January 2, 1972 in Oxford, to the late Troy and Betty Sharp Stark, was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church in Water Valley. She was a photographer.
Survivors include: her husband James H. Melton of Batesville; son, Zack Melton of Batesville; two brothers, Troy Stark Jr. of Oxford, Ronnie Stark of Water Valley. James Carter Steinwinder
POPE––James Carter “Jimmy” Steinwinder, 78, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Baptist Memorial-North Mississippi. He was the husband of Carolyn Steinwinder of Pope
Services were held Sunday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Roundaway Baptist Church Cemetery in Indianola. Reverend Jeff Tankersly officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Steinwinder, born June 7, 1936, in Columbia, to the late Jefferson Patrick Steinwinder Jr. and Kathleen Carter Steinwinder, retired after 32 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Margaret Gibson Steinwinder.
Survivors along with his wife, include: two sons, Joe Steinwinder of Enterprise, Ala., and Mike Steinwinder of Starkville; one step daughter, Cindy Griffin of Memphis; one step son, Andy Tennyson of Batesville; one brother, William Patrick Steinwinder of Jackson; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
The family requests memorials be sent to Enid Lake Baptist Church Building Fund.
