A prayer walk through some Batesville neighborhoods is being planned for Saturday morning by a group of area residents who say they are fed up with gang violence in their community and want to present a united voice to oppose it.

“We are going to walk, sing and pray,” said Sandra Butts, one of the organizers.

The walk will begin at 10 a.m. on Tubbs Road, and move through apartment complexes and neighborhoods along Martin Luther King, Patton Lane, Hoskins Road, and in the Skyview Apartments. Gang activity has been cited by police in recent months in some of those areas.
Anyone who would like to join the walk may meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the old Mr. Jiffy No. 3 and Tubbs Road.
