Police investigate bomb

threat at South Panola

By Rupert Howell

As of Wednesday afternoon, one student had been apprehended involved with a written bomb threat that disrupted South Panola High School and caused an evacuation Tuesday during the lunch hour.

District Superintendent Tim Wilder confirmed the matter was still under investigation by both Batesville Police Department and the school district.

Wilder indicated that more could be involved and emphasized that making a bomb threat is a federal offense.

No one has yet to be arrested for an earlier bomb threat this year, but Wilder said a student involved with a bomb threat during the previous school year is no longer in the district.
