Cleanup hearings set today during city board meeting 7/1/2014

City officials will hold two “cleanup” hearings during today’s regular meeting of the board of mayor aldermen and schedule three public hearings concerning code enforcement according to an advance copy of the meeting’s agenda.
The meetings will begin at 2 p.m. at City Hall and scheduled hearings will begin at 3 p.m. Properties on 229 Martin Luther King Drive belonging to Edward Turner Estate and 218 A Broadway belonging to Hal Ferrell will be included in the hearings.
Hearings to be set according to the agenda for application of conditional use permits are sought by Richard Monroe and Calvin Dixon. A hearing seeking a variance request is being sought by Janelle A. Baker.
Requests to reappoint Willie King to the Planning Commission and Tommy Caine to the Licensing Commission are also on the agenda as well as a report on cleanup of 102 and 108 on Hadorn Road.
During department head reports, Fire Chief Tim Taylor is scheduled to request a check for fire engine #13 to Toyne Fire Apparatus in Iowa and permission for Taylor and two firemen to hand deliver it while picking up the the engine with expenses being paid by the vendor.
Batesville’s City Board meets regularly the first and third Tuesdays of each month at City Hall beginning at 2 p.m.
