BATESVILLE–Stella M. Ellis, 66, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services were held Saturday at New Hope M.B. Church. Burial was in New Hope Church Cemetery. Pastor Darrin Ellis officiated. Cooley’s Mortuary had charge.

Ellis, born Jan. 1, 1948, in Pope, to the late Jessie Hamilton and Essie Mae Ford Hamilton, was a retired store clerk and a member of Persimmon Hill M.B. Church.

Survivors include: one son, Eddie Hamilton of Rock Island, Ill.; four brothers, Jessie Hamilton of Eugene, Oreg., Jerry Johnson of Detroit, Archie Hamilton of Rock Island and Tillis Hamilton of Memphis; two sisters, Ethel Hamilton of Detroit and Mae Lizzie Hamilton Anderson of Rock Island; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
