A free, three-day fitness camp will be sponsored this week by First Community Outreach Ministry Services at the South Panola High School track for adults and children ages 13 and up.
Two personal fitness trainers, brothers Amaud Mitchell and Antonio Mitchell, have returned to Batesville for the past five years during the local schools’ spring break to offer the Fitness in Action Camp. Both played football at South Panola.
Hours for the camp are: Thursday and Friday, March 13-14, 9-11:30 a.m. and 5-7:30 p.m.; on Saturday, March 15 there will be a 5K walk/run on the school grounds, beginning at 9 a.m.
A wide range of exercises and activities will be offered, including cardio kickboxing and pi-yo, a mixture of pilates and yoga. In addition, the trainers will discuss the fundamentals of fitness, sports and nutrition. A primary focus of the camp is to provide tools to combat obesity, the trainers said.
Amaud Mitchell is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and lives in Los Angeles where he is a professional personal trainer and manager of an athletic club.
Antonio Mitchell attended the University of Arkansas, served in the Marine Corps, and is now a professional personal trainer in Texas.
They are the sons of Linda Mitchell who directs the First Community Outreach Ministry.
