Green Wave teams split with Winona

Jordan Pullen knocked down a free throw with 26 seconds left in the game to give the North Delta Lady Green Wave a 52-51 victory over Winona Christian Saturday in a District 1-AA tilt.

The Stars hit the front end of a one-and-one free throw opportunity with 20 seconds left to close the margin to 52-51 with 20 seconds remaining, but could not convert the bonus shot.

North Delta (5-2; 2-0) outscored Winona 21-14 in the fourth quarter to rally from a 37-32 deficit in the third quarter.

Erin Snider paved the way for North Delta with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Hastings Neal added 12 points while Julianna Morrow dished off seven assists to go along with eight points. Claire Gant and Pullen ended with three points each.

Winona Christian (boys)- 54 North Delta- 49 (OT)

 Winona Christian outscored the visiting Green Wave 13-8 in overtime to come away with the district win.
  The Stars sent the game into the extra period at 41-41 with 4:31 left in regulation as neither team could hit the go-ahead shot the remainder of the quarter. Winona took a 47-43 advantage before Ridge Simmerman drained a three-pointer with 42 seconds left. Winona extended its lead to 50-46 before Bailey Sullivant knocked down another trey at the 27 second mark.

  Winona iced the game by hitting four-or-six free throws down the stretch to come away with the victory.
  Sam Copeland paced North Delta (1-3;1-1) with 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Will Hartzell followed with 11 points while Simmerman and Sullivant both chipped in with nine points. Tyler Beard and Dennis King had three and two points.
