Judge Bill McKenzie told a defendant he could be released from jail after Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday after he was found not guilty of possessing drugs.
Lorenzo Honeycutt, 122 Causen St., Marks, had a case dismissed for felony possession of controlled substance and DUI-second dismissed after the test results came back from the crime lab negative.
Honeycutt was represented by Attorney Larry Walker.
He was fined $162 for loud music.
Montinez V. Green, 103 Field St., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and abusing members of police department. He was fined $757.
The judge knocked off $500 for the 10 days in jail the defendant spent awaiting trial. He was originally fined $1,257.
Albert J. Johnson, 8353 Old Panola, Sardis, entered guilty pleas to false information, possession of marijuana in a vehicle, loud music and driving while license suspended. He was fined $1,343 .
McKenzie took $500 off of his original fine of $,1843 for the 10 days in jail he spent awaiting trial.
Nicholas Williams, 104 Magnolia St., Sardis, entered a guilty plea to false information and no driver’s license. He was fined $938.
Excell Jackson, 3610 Curtis Lock Station, Batesville, was fined $1,060 for simple possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct-failure to comply.
Norman L. Riggs, 8222 Paula Kay, Shreveport, La., entered a guilty plea to domestic violence-simple and disorderly conduct-failure to comply.
He had a case continued for simple possession of controlled substance after he told the judge he had a prescription for oxycodone.
“Come back next week with proof you have a prescription,” McKenzie said.
A trial was set for October 2 for Andrea Moore, 12 South Pine Lake, Batesville, for embezzlement from Chili’s.
Traci Charbavski, 46 Ramsey Circle, Sardis, entered a guilty plea to public drunk. He was fined $210.
Micheal Rudd, 1250 Shiloh Rd., Courtland, had a trial set for DUI-refusal. He will have lawyer representation.
Brittany Hankins, 201 Jones St., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to DUI, loud music and no driver’s license.
Cases set for trial
Rebecca Gillis, 171 CR 215, Oxford agreed to enter a guilty plea to possession of marijuana in a vehicle and no seat belt. She was fined $703.
Laquita Gardner, 335 Shamrock, Batesville, had a case for simple possession of marijuana remanded to the files.
Brandy N. Jones, 916 Bonnie Blue, Oxford, had an open container charge remanded to the files.

Felicia Oliver, 1078 Sanders Rd., Sardis, was fined $461 for no driver’s license and obstructing a street.
Willie E. Carr, 105 Lester St. No. 12, Batesville, was fined $461 for no driver’s license and no tag light.
