Bonnie Sue Albritton

BATESVILLE – Bonnie Sue Albritton, 71, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at her residence.
Services were Monday at Dickins Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Ellis officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park.

Albritton, born Nov. 17, 1941, in Marks, to the late Henry Woods and Ella Jones Woods, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and retired manager of Dollar General Store in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy E. Albritton.

Survivors include: daughters, Nits Gianelloni and Cathy Powell, both of Batesville and Tressie Allen of Richland; one son, Rickey Albritton of Jena, La.; sisters, Lena Davis of Jena, and Virginia Culbreath of Wills Point, Texas; brothers, Billy Woods of Sardis, H.O. Woods of Marks and Johnny Woods of Batesville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


Robert Lee Buford

COMO – Robert Lee Buford Sr., 73, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hunter Chapel M.B. Church in Como. Burial will be in O.B. McClinton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home.

Survivors include: wife, Ena Sue Buford; daughters, Tiffany Buford and Connie Lewis, both of Senatobia and Cassandra Ellis of Duncanville, Texas; sons, Robert L. Buford Jr. of Senatobia, Anthony Dennard of Como and Terry Richardson of Las Vegas; three sisters, Patricia Lewis and Jeanette Lewis, of Como, Gloria Hoskin of Danville, Ill.; four brothers, Ollie Buford, Jimmy Buford, both of Senatobia, Jerry Onidas of Como, Charles Hoskin of Danville; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.


Lucille L. Cooper

BATESVILLE – Lucille L. Thomas Cooper, 85, died May 29, 2013, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Concord M.B. Church. Rev. Zannie Leland will officiate. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Cooper, born June 27, 1927, in Batesville, to Stanley Thomas Sr. and Minnie L. Griffin, was a CNA and Home Health Aide. She was a member of Concord M.B. Church.

Survivors include; sons, Floyd Thomas of Milwaukee, Lonnie James Corley and Terry Lee Corley, both of Batesville; sisters, Annie C. Smith of Tulsa, Lula Bell Child of Warren, Okla. and Irma L. Martin of Batesville; one brother, Stanley Thomas II of Batesville; one sister, Wilkie Hentz of Batesville; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.


Linda Jane Cline

POPE – Linda Jane Kemp Cline, 62, died May 30, 2013.

Graveside memorial services will be held Thursday, June 20 at 2 p.m. at Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Cline, born to Ray Wallace and Naomi Copeland Kemp, on June 26, 1950, in Beaumont, Texas, was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Cline and one son, Donald Coyle.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carrie Everts of California and Michele Cline of Las Vegas; two sons, Ray Coyle of Pope and Billy Coyle of Las Vegas; two brothers, Robert Kemp of Lumberton, Texas and Billy Jack Kemp of Bridge City, Texas and eight grandchildren.


Joyce Sue Gordon


BATESVILLE – Joyce Sue Gordon, 61, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Services will be held Friday, at 10 a.m. in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky McKay and Mr. Robert Rawson officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Gordon was born May 18, 1952, to Bobby Gene and Edwena Patricia Whitman Jaco. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She was employed with Fruit of The Loom for 17 years as a seamstress.

She was preceded in death by a son, Clarence B. Gordon, III and one grandson Jordan Howard Tindall.

Survivors include her husband, C.B. “Flash” Gordon of Batesville; three daughters, Kim Barnes of Oxford, Sara LeAnn McMullen of Savannah, Ga. and Megan Courtney Wilson of Sardis; six sisters, Wanda Shields of Courtland, Arlene Robertson and Roena Robertson, both of Batesville, Carlene Jaco of Sarah, Diane Wiginton of Jackson, Tenn. and Lila Darby of Colorado Springs.; four brothers, Kelly Jaco, David Jaco, Allen Jaco, all of Batesville and Terry Jaco of Independence and six grandchildren.

Mark W. Gill

POPE – Mark W. Gill, 52, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi.

Services were held Thursday, June 6, with Rev. Damon Plummer presiding. Burial followed in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Gill was born to Deanna Kay Ethridge Keen of Courtland and Billy Bramhall Gill of Memphis in Memphis on October 1, 1960. He was employed with Ingram Barge Company as a 2nd Mate for 16 years.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Misty Ware Gill of Pope; two daughters, Tiffany Lashelle Hallam of Memphis and Karissa Patricia Gill of Clearwater, Fla.; two sons, Harley Wayne Gill and Colton Chase Gill, both of Pope; four sisters, Deanna Kaye Patrick of Senatobia, Ellen Delores Pitcock of Branson, Mo., Johnnie Martin of Memphis and Cathy Cooper of Bristol, Tenn.; two brothers, Vince Howard Gill and Jonathon Keen, both of Batesville and two grandchildren.


Jhauvarious Sanchanez Hentz


BATESVILLE. – Jhauvarious Sanchanez Hentz, 24, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the MED.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim’s Rest M. B. Church. Pastor Melvin Ellis will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.

Hentz, born Jan. 2, 1989 in Memphis, to Willie Carr of Batesville and Twana Hentz of Batesville, went to South Panola High School. He was a mechanic and a member of Pilgrim Rest M. B. Church.

Survivor, along with his parents, include: one brother, Devonte’ Hentz of Batesville.


L. J. Jaudon


SARDIS – L. J. Jaudon, 70, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home with visitation at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park.

Jaudon, born Oct. 13, 1942, to Floyd James and Lillian Robertson Jaudon, worked in construction and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Patricia Ann Taylor Jaudon of Sardis; daughter, Leota Jaudon Guthridge of Tonapak, Nev.; son Larry James Jaudon of Australia; one sister, Laurine Jaudon Heal of Sarasota, Fla.; brother, Corkey Jaudon of Talladega, Ala.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


Cleo Rae McKnight Westbrook


POPE – Cleo Rae McKnight Westbrook, 84, died Monday June 3, 2013 at her home.  

Graveside funeral service were held , Thursday June 6, at the Shelby Cemetery. 

She was born December 3, 1928 to Robert Gary and Mary (Agner) McKnight in Shelby.

She was a former bank teller for the Bank of Bolivar County for many years. Westbrook was a former member of Belleview Baptist Church in Shelby and current member of Enid Lake Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Richard Alton Westbrook, grandson, Brian Patterson.

She is survived by two daughters, June W. Patterson of Boyle and Barbara W. Whatley of Wesson; son, Richard Westbrook Jr. of Philadelphia; sister, Edith M. Bailey of Cleveland.
