Lillian Sharp Hinton


BATESVILLE – Lillian Sharp Hinton , 80, widow of Clifton Hinton Jr., died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the funeral home. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Hinton, born on Feb. 28, 1932, to Oliver Gilbert and Dorothy Delight Locke Sharp in Itta Bena, worked over 31 years as a beautician. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Batesville.

She was preceded in death by one son, Clifton Randy Hinton.

Survivors include: one son Ronnie G. Hinton of Batesville; one sister, Ruby Inez Sharp McCullar of Courtland; one brother, Cecil Oliver Sharp of Batesville, three grandchildren-and six great grandchildren

Rena Gertrude Hutchings

BATESVILLE – Rena Gertrude Hutchings, 84, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services will be held Thursday at Holly Springs Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Holly Springs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Early Grove in Lamar. Frank Feathers and Christopher Norwood will officiate. Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.

Hutchings, born Aug.  30, 1828, to the late George Edward Feathers and Mary Yeager Feathers, was a Baptist and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hutchings; one son, Arthur Hutchings and two daughters, Brenda Morgan and Rena Hutchigs

Survivors include: one son, George Leslie Hutchings of Batesville; four daughters, Ada Jane McGuff of Holcomb, Linda Norwood of Holly Springs, Mildred Gore of Greenwood and Joyce Kiddy of Batesville; one sister, Gladys Smith of Waterford; 18 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.


Larry Hulett Patton


BATESVILLE – Larry Hulett Patton, 63, died Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Desoto.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Batesville First United Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Dickins Funeral Home has charge. Full  obituary information was not available at press time.
