Helen E. Laster King

POPE – Helen E. Laster King, age 63, passed away Sunday evening, October 21, 2012, at her home in Pope.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, 10/26/12, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Robert Rawson officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Harmontown.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. service time on Friday.

Helen was born on November 25, 1948, to James Wesley and Mary Evelyn White Laster in Shelby.

Her survivors include, her husband, John Carl Tucker of Memphis, two daughters, Tracy Renee King Davidson (John Marshall) of Pope, Teresa Ann King Farrar and finance’, Tommy Lentz of Coldwater,  two sons, William Earl Martin and fiance’, Brenda Kaye Denley Perkins, and Billy Wayne Bryant and fiance’, Lisa Robinson of Vicksburg. She also leaves four sisters, Penny Lynn Laster Pennington of Sarah, Delois Ann Laster Denley of Grenada, Margaret Ann Laster Smith (J.T.) of Memphis, and two brothers, Michael Wayne Laster of Coffeeville, Harold Wayne Laster (Cindy Fisk) of Coffeeville, a sister-in-law, Sandy Laster of Brandon, 15 grandchildren, Olaf Miramontz, Marcus Miramontz, Seirra Davidson, Leila Davidson, Shannon Nicole Smith, Jason Lee Welch (Shawna), Quentin Adam Welch, Jr., (Brittney), Jasmine Baldwin, Brian Riley, Jessica Martin (Daniel Patton), William Ray Martin, Betty Jean Martin, Debbie Teague, Betty Ashley Bryant and Travis Dwayne Bryant and five great grandchildren, Makinzie Nicole Welch, Jayden Alexander Smith, Nikki Ann Nicole Welch, Hunter Durane Patton and one on the way.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Lee Miramontz, a sister, Peggy Laster Wilkinson, 3 brothers, David Earl Randell, Claude Edward Holland and Tommy Laster; three granddaughters also preceded Mrs. King in death; Amber Nicole Welch, Brandie Nicole Martin and the daughter of Kimberly Lee Miramontz.

Mildred V. Young

BATESVILLE – Mrs. Mildred V. Young, age 91, widow of Reverend Woody Young, died Monday, October 22, 2012, at Golden Living Nursing facility in Batesville.  

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
