Conventions prove Harpole’s lying not ready for prime time

As a professional liar, I have been watching the political conventions, as well as made-for-TV murder trials. I have come to the conclusion that comparatively speaking, I’m an amateur liar.

This is not an apology but a fact. The Republicans can lie at least as well as the Democrats if not better on public speaking events, both of which might as well be in competition with a mud-slinging soap opera. It’s enough to make you go to a trusted neighbor and borrow a shotgun to shoot the TV.

The  high point so far is former president Bill Clinton’s hair. It Has remained the same color and his sensibilities have not changed. You can read that statement any way you want to and still justify your convictions, whatever your political position may be. The speech he delivered at the convention drew enough applause deafen everybody in Texas.

As for the Republicans, I haven’t had a chance to evaluate one them rascals in the White House lately. Where in the hell is Ross Perot or my personal choice, Teddy Roosevelt. (But he is out of the game for sure.)

I would have chunked my hat in the ring, but I have enemies in Congress who seem to want to prolong another nasty little war, so that would turn into useless endeavor.

My advice is to vote against the one of your choice. Since they are all crooks; do the most damage at the polls that you can to the biggest crook you can identify.

Good Luck,
