The budget will not require an increase in city property taxes, Certified Public Accountant Bill Crawford of Will Polk and Associates said. Crawford said that he expects to have copies of the proposed budget available for city officials and for public review at city hall by Thursday, August 30.

The $27.3 million budget is expected to be funded by an anticipated $23.1 million in revenues plus approximately $7.7 million in operating cash carried over from fiscal 2012. The 2013 budget is projected to leave about $3.6 million cash at the end of the next budget year on September 30, 2013.
