BPD begins annual flush of fire hydrants
Batesville firemen are flushing the city’s water lines as part of annual maintenance, Batesville Fire Department Life and Safety Officer Rip Copeland said.
The firemen open fire hydrants and allow a period of maximum flow to remove accumulated rust and sediment. Water users in affected areas may see some discoloration in their water, Copeland said. The project will last for two to three weeks as firemen move through different areas of the city.
City water users with questions can learn additional information by contacting the fire department shift captain on duty at 609-4704, Copeland said.
