A basketful of opportunities has been delivered for this weekend in Panola County, including a sunny forecast to ensure nobody’s eggs get wet.
Today a community Easter Egg Hunt is planned at Trussell Park from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The event is hosted by the Finch-Henry Job Corps Center and volunteers from Greek service organizations. There will be games and activities for the kids.
In Sardis, Saturday is AprilFest, with a 5K walk/run at 8 a.m., a car show along Main Street, arts and crafts, food vendors, a bake sale, and live entertainment. Call 609-2159 for information.
If you’re hungry Saturday morning, go to the Batesville Intemediate School from 7-10 a.m. when members of the Exchange Club will be flipping pancakes to benefit child abuse prevention. (See John Howell’s column, page A4.) The price for breakfast is $4.
To work off that big breakfast, take advantage of the Fitness in Action Fitness Camp’s 5K walk/run for ages 13 and up. The event starts at 9 a.m. Go to the South Panola High School football field.
At Cossar State Park Easter activities will be Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. Games and activities will follow a traditional egg hunt.
