A young man charged with two counts of murder was bound over to the grand jury during Batesville Municipal Court Wedesday.
Judge Bill McKenzie reduced Jeremy Pollard’s bond of $1,000,000 to $500,000.
Pollard, 416 Tubbs Rd., Batesville, never came out of the judge’s chambers.
Attorney David Walker was appointed as his lawyer.
He was charged with the murders that occurred Thursday, March 29, which authorities say Lacardo Moore, 26, and Shundarrus Moore, 17, were killed in retaliation for a shooting that occurred minutes earlier elsewhere in Batesville.
Laquindell Miles, 550 Rockhill, Sardis, entered the city’s work program for 10 days in lieu of paying old fines of $434 that have been due since April 2011 and a new charge for no child restraint adding $145 to his fines.
Miles had a simple assault case dismissed after the affiant, Princess Coppage failed to appear to prosecute.
Antonio Mister, 330 Ford Rd., Batesville, failed to appear for charges of false information, no seat belt, no driver’s license and no proof of insurance.
He also failed to appear for his last court date. Alright Bonding was notified.
Walter L. Thomas, 1386 MLK, Marks, was fined $1,175 for possession of marijuana in a vehicle, careless driving and driving while license suspended.
Thomas told the judge he didn’t know how the marijuana got in his vehicle.
“It belonged to someone else,” he said before entering his guilty plea.
“It just appeared huh?” McKenzie stated.
Donald Johnson, 123 Vance St., Batesville, entered a not guilty plea to disorderly conduct-failure to comply and resisting arrest. A trial was set for May 7.
He had old fines of $367 that have been due since May 2011. The judge told him to have his fines paid in full by April 18 or spend 90 days in jail.
Calvin Valentine, 204-D Lester, Batesville, had a petit larceny case dismissed after the affiant Carolyn Stokes failed to appear to prosecute.
Danny Corley, 394 Greenbriar, Courtland, entered a not guilty plea to simple assault against affiant Betty Mister.
“Didn’t I tell ya’ll if ya’ll came back in here. Ya’ll would both be put in jail?” McKenzie asked.
A trial was set for May.
Sammy Barksdale, 4238 Curtis Rd., Batesville, paid his fines of $610 in full for two counts of simple assault prior to court.
Willie T. Henderson, 107 Williams St., Batesville, entered the city’s work program for 11 days in lieu of paying $922 for DUI and loud music.
Larry Sanford, 25 Ruby Rd., Courtland, entered a not guilty plea to public drunk. A trial was set for May 2.
Jimmy Redwine, 2101 Itasta, Nesbit, entered the city’s work program for 15 days in lieu of paying $1,328 for public drunk and shoplifting.
Lashandra Banks, 450 Old River, Clarksdale, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting from Wal-Mart and was fined $1,124.
Shapaula Banks, 448 Old Curtis Ave., Claksdale, entered a guilty plea to shoplifting from Wal-Mart.
The judge asked the two Clarksdale girls, “What are y’all doing coming over here and stealing?”
The judge told both girls they are banned from all Wal-Mart stores.
Diamond Barr, 101 Martinez, Batesville, paid old fines of $638 that have been due since May 2011 in full prior to court.
Cory Woods, 205 First St., Marks, was sentenced to six months in jail after failing to pay old fines of $2,927 that have been due since March 2008.
Novan Foster, 22324-B Hwy. 35, Batesville, had old fines of $500 that have been due since November 2009. He previously failed to finish the city work program. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail.
Jesssica Bobo, 477-C Green Rd., Pope, had old fines of $598 that have been due since January 2009.
She told the judge she paid her fines.
He told her to come back to court next week with proof she paid her fines.
Deshawn Lockwood, 213 Hays, Batesville, was sentenced to 90 days in jail for failing to pay old fines of $2,150 that have been due since February 2010.
Sybil A. Hollis, 20555 Hwy. 6 East, Batesville, had a case continued for felony possession of controlled substance, speeding and driving while license suspended.
Cases set for trial
Linda Frost, 107 MLK No. 8, Batesville, had a handicap parking case dismissed.
Kenard Washington, 267 Love St., Crowder, was found guilty of loud music, improper equipment and old fines of $297 that have been due since January 2012 in his absence.
His total fines were $609.
Laquana Sanford, 3064 Butler Rd., Batesville, had a domestic violence-simple assault case dismissed after the affiant failed to appear to prosecute.

Curtis Sanford, 1050 Wells Ext., Batesville, was fined $433 for speeding and no driver’s license
Timothy D. Latham, 405 S Waverly, Charleston, was fined $489 for no driver’s license and no proof of insurance.
James Harvey, 206 Cedar St., Vaiden, was fined $964 for driving while license suspended and no proof of insurance
Aresia S. Johnson, Lot 32 Eldarado St., Lambert, was fined $497 for no driver’s license and no tag.
Markevious C. Frost, Cole Dr., Batesville, was fined $295 for no driver’s license.
