SPHS cheerleaders make history

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our community for all of the support shown to the South Panola Competitive Cheer-leading squad at the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida.

The squad made history by making it straight through to the final round of competition without having to go through all of the preliminary and semi-final rounds.  They were the first squad ever from South Panola to do this.

Also, they were the first squad to ever do all single-base stunts and a single-base one armed liberty.  These are co-ed stunts.  This year, they were all-girl stunts and they totally belonged to South Panola.
Special thanks to the Panola County Sheriff’s Department who escorted our bus from the Panola county line, and a special thanks to the Batesville Police Department who followed our bus from the main exit, through all the red lights, to the high school parking lot.

Our girls finished eighth in the country.  They did an awesome job, and they represented our community with the utmost respect and dignity.

We felt all of the support from back home.  Once again, thank you Batesville for everything.
