All 3 Panola County teams win


All three Panola County teams were victorious tonight. The only local game saw North Panola win its first game of the season over Independence 42-0.

Jamal Mangrum’s final buzzer 80-yard interception return for a touchdown was the final exclamation point on the evening. Also scoring for the Cougars were Martavius Butler, Chris Conner, Tony Hibbler and two pass touchdowns to Jatavius Farmer.

The Cougars will play their final regular season game next week at home against Byhalia at 7 p.m.

South Panola

On the road, South Panola overcame a 21-17 halftime deficit and scored 27 unanswered points in the district match against Southaven. The Tigers won 44-21.


North Delta

Finishing up its regular season tonight, North Delta traveled to Indianola and walked away with the District 1-AA Championship title with a 40-13 win. North Delta will be off next week and return to host the first round of playoff Nov. 4 against an as yet undetermined opponent.
