Summertime ends next week, kiddos

Some 7,000 Panola County students in grades K-12 will return to school next week, most getting back to classes on Thursday, August 4.

At Batesville Elementary School, pre-K students and first graders will start to school on August 4. Also on that day kindergarten girls will attend. On Friday, August 5 kindergarten boys will join the pre-K and first graders, while kindergarten girls stay home. All BES students will attend school on Monday, August 8.

Back-to-School nights are planned on August 3 at Batesville Elementary from 5-6:30 p.m. and at Batesville Intermediate from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

All students at Batesville Intermediate School and Batesville Middle School will come to school on Thursday, August 4. At Batesville Junior High, only sixth graders come to school on August 4. They stay home and seventh and eighth graders come on August 5. On August 8, all BJH students return to school.

All students in grades K-8 at Pope School will come to school on August 4.

South Panola High School freshmen only will come to school on August 4. On Friday, August 5, sophomores, juniors and seniors will come to school. On Monday, August 8, all four grades will be in session.

Students in grades K-12 at North Delta School come to school for a half-day on Friday, August 5. They’ll be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Their first full day of school will be Monday, August 8.

Students in the North Panola School District will return to school on Thursday, August 4.
