The Panola County Circuit Clerk’s office will be open on Saturday mornings, July 23 and 30, to allow citizens to take care of election-related business on the weekends prior to the August 2 primaries.

The circuit clerk’s office will be open until noon both Saturdays.

Voters may participate in absentee balloting up until July 30, Circuit Clerk Joe Reid said.

The August 2 primary will choose Democratic nominees for supervisor, sheriff, circuit clerk, and District 2 justice court judge in Panola’s county races.

Ballots will also include Democratic and Republican nominees for House District 10, and Democratic nominees for Senate District 10.

The deadline has passed for voter registration for next month’s primaries, but citizens have until 30 days before the November General Election to qualify to vote in that election, Reid said.
