Letter to the editor

Pay attention to candidates, reader warns

We need to take the elections seriously. Some of the candidates are for themselves and not for the people. Some of them (ones in office) say they are against raising taxes, but then they vote themselves a raise!

Where do their raises come from? Tax money. We are losing more rights and freedom every day. The ones in office make more rules and laws every day or even change the law to suit them.Or to put more money into their pocket. Some examples: just read The Panolian about Open Meeting Law.

When Obama was asked what he was going to do about the gas prices, he said you need to get a new car that gets better miles per gallon. Some people can’t afford a new car. What Obama didn’t say anything about was that his limousine gets only eight miles to the gallon. It also has more armor than most of our military vehicles.

Those facts can be found in The Guinness World Records 2010 book.

Obama isn’t worried about the price of gas, because we the tax payers pay for his gas. The Constitution of the United States states, “We the People,” not “we the government.”

If we the people let them keep going the way they are, then the government will be telling us where to work, when you can sleep, what to eat and what doctor you can go see.

We need to pay more attention to who we put in office.
