Myrtle Frances Livingston

BATESVILLE– Myrtle Frances Livingston, 69, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at her residence.

Services were Tuesday at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Livingston, born Aug. 12, 1941, in Marks, to the late Chester and Myrtle Livingston, was a graduate of the University of Mississippi. She was a certified public accountant with William H. Polk and Company.

Survivors include: one sister, Bobbie J. Dickey of Batesville and one brother, Robert Leon Livingston of Memphis.

Maggilean Mosley

POPE– Maggilean Mosley, 70, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Rev. Nehemiah Martin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Mosley, born Nov. 18, 1940, in Pope, to the late Joe McCaster and Birdie Washington, was a homemaker and a member of Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.

Survivors include: two daughters, Annie Terrell of West Memphis, Ark. and Pearl Robinson of Newark, Del.; one godson, Charles Mills of Orlando and four grandchildren.

Geary Buford Ray

COMO– Geary Buford Ray, 52, died Saturday, April 9, 2011.

Mr. Ray will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ray, born Feb. 13, 1959, in Phillips County, Ark. to the late Elzie Buford and Geraldine Wright Ray, served in the U.S. military and was disabled.

Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn Sue Beaver Ray of Batesville; two daughters, Stephanie Lawson and Kimberly Jackson, both of Batesville; two sons, Geary Buford Ray Jr. and Brian Earl Ray, both of Tupelo; one sister, Mary Catherine Winters of Sardis; one brother, Timothy Earl Ray of Batesville and six grandchildren.

Albert Donnell “Don” Stewart

PONTOTOC– Albert Donnell “Don” Stewart, 61, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Pontotoc. He was the father of William Stewart of Batesville.  

Services were Sunday at Naylor Chapel C.M.E. Church. Rev. Matthew Freeman officiated. Burial was in Pontotoc City Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home had charge.

Survivors along with his son include: two sons, Stanley Gates of Columbus, Ohio and Adam Stewart of Tupelo; his mother, Earline Douglas of Humble, Texas; four sisters, Beverly Simmons and Marilyn K. Carter, both of Chicago, Janice Williams of Tupelo and Sandra Ashby of Humble, Texas; two brothers, Anthony “Gene” Bolton of Pontotoc and Kerry Gregory of Memphis and three grandchildren.

 

Ralph “Jr” Turner Jr.

COURTLAND– Ralph “Jr” Turner Jr., 44, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven.

Services were Tuesday at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial was in Terza Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Turner was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Batesville.

Survivors include: his wife, Shelia Bright Turner of Courtland; two sons, Bobby Turner and Jeremy Turner, both of Courtland; two sisters, Tammy Lynn Dettor of Sardis and Barbara Bright Bennett of Batesville; one brother, Jamie Wade Bright of Batesville and one grandson, Clifton James Turner of Courtland.
