Lisa Hollowell Bevan

BATESVILLE– Lisa Hollowell Bevan, 49, died Friday, January 21, 2011, at her residence.

Services were Sunday at Waller Funeral Home. Rev. Rusty Robertson officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Cemetery.

Bevan, born in Memphis, was a member of First Faith Baptist Church. She was a clerk with Hollowell Pallet Company where she worked for 15 years.

Survivors include: two daughters, Britney Bevan Russell of Batesville and Christen Bevan Speck of Morocco, Africa; her mother, Bettye Clanton Tramel of Batesville; her father, Harold Dean Hollowell Sr. of Batesville; one sister, Debra Hollowell Nicholson of Batesville; one brother, Jr. Hollowell and three grandchildren.

Winfred H. Harper

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn.– Winfred H. Harper, 90, died Thursday, January 20, 2011, at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tenn.

Services were Sunday at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Crofford officiated. Burial was in Peachcreek Baptist Church Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Harper, born Oct. 15, 1920, in Marks, to the late Richard and Birtie Reynolds Harper, attended Beach Springs Baptist Church in Kodak, Tenn. and served in the United States Army during WWII in New Guinea and Southern Phillippines where he was a bridge carpenter for Chenney and Hope Construction, helping build campgrounds in Sardis, Enid and Arkabutla. Winfred and his wife, Ola also owned a grocery store and furniture store in Darling.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Harper.

Survivors include: his wife, Ola Mae Smith Harper of Sevierville, Tenn.; one son, Richey Lynn Harper of Sevierville; four grandchildren and 12 grandchildren.

Frances Edwards Oliver

OXFORD–Frances Edwards Oliver, 86, died Saturday, January 22, 2011, at her residence. She was the sister of Linda Edwards Pou of Batesville.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home. Rev. Johnny Flynt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to service from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Oliver, born in Lafayette County, was a member of North Oxford Baptist Church.

Herman Bennett Walls

CROWDER–Herman Bennett Walls, 76, died Friday, January 21, 2011, at Quitman County Hospital.

Walls, born March 22, 1934, to the late Dewey William Walls and Margaret Lucille Walls, was a retired farmer. He enjoyed playing dominoes when he wasn’t in the fields and loved being on his tractor.

Survivors include: two brothers, Dewey Edward Walls and Thomas Larry Walls of Batesville; four sisters, Ernestine Cooper, Mary Ann Thompson, Lois Fortner and Carole Martin, all of Batesville.
