ND boys fall to Marshall in OT

The North Delta Green Wave varsity basketball teams suffered tough district road losses Saturday afternoon at Marshall Academy.

In the opening game, the Marshall girls outscored North Delta 12-6 in the fourth quarter to take a 38-33 victory behind 17 points from Callie Clanton and Kelsey Shaw. Bradi Beard led the Green Wave (15-7; 2-2 in District 1-AA) with 11 points and eight rebounds.

In the nightcap, No. 8 ranked Marshall remained undefeated in district play with a 46-43 overtime win over North Delta.

Jim Tom Copeland paced North Delta (10-6; 3-1) with 18 points followed by Bryan Nickle with 11 points. Derrick Shawn added six points while Matthew Barefoot registered four and Corbin Baker chipped in with three. Bailey Guckert rounded out scoring with one point.

Katelyn Still scored eight points for the Lady Wave while Hanna Greenlee pulled down 10 rebounds to go along with seven points. Laci DuBravec added three points while Charla Shea Darby and Madison Greenlee scored two points each.

NDJH Girls

North Delta junior high took the girls match up by a score of 48-13 behind Erin Snider’s 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Callie Blake Masterson reached double figure scoring with 11 points, six steals and five assists.

Other scorers included: Julianna Morrow with eight; Peyton Rico with five; Courtney DuBravec and Hastings Neal with four each; Claire Gant and Jordan Pullen with two points each.

North Delta will be back in action today at 4 p.m. as they host West Memphis, Ark. in a district clash before going on the road Thursday to square off against Delta beginning at 4 p.m.
