The Batesville Police Department’s investigation into an Oct. 11 strong-arm robbery on the Batesville Square led to the discovery of a second robbery and an additional charge against Kendrick Flowers.
Flowers was charged late last week for an attack which left a juvenile victim with his jaw broken. BPD Det. Paul Shivers said the attack occurred about 5:30 p.m. behind Dickins Funeral Home. A juvenile was also charged in the robbery.
Det. Tommy Crutcher said during the investigation he learned of another attack minutes earlier. A father “told me that his son had come home and told him that he was attacked and his MP3 player was taken in the assault,” the officer’s report stated. The victim suffers from autism, the officer said.
The investigation also revealed that a man police were seeking as a third assailant had actually attempted to discourage the other two from attacking the victims in the two robberies, Crutcher said.
