McCulley wins 2 of 3 FLW BFL tournaments

Brad McCulley of Courtland caught a five-bass limit weighing 21 pounds, 15 ounces Saturday, June 5 to win $5,289 in the FLW BFL (Bass Fishing League) Mississippi Division tournament on Lake Ferguson. Under cloudy skies McCulley traveled about 40 miles up river and was using topwater baits around bushes to bag his limit.

He also caught a five-bass limit weighing 18 pounds, 11 ounces in April to earn $6,806 as winner of the BFL Mississippi Division tournament on Pickwick Lake at JP Coleman State Park. He was using a football jig and shaky heads in deep brush to snag the victory.

The next and last BFL Mississippi Division tournament for the 2010 season is scheduled for September 18-19, at Ross Barnett Reservoir in Brandon. After the fifth Mississippi Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Regional Championship at Lake Barkley in Kuttawa, Ken., on Oct. 7-9 for a chance to win a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
