Simmerman hits triple for Coker; Henson slams HR for FSB at JP this week

Lige Simmerman belted a triple and two singles and scored two runs to lead Coker Air & Heat to a 13-5 victory over Evans Engineering in 9-10 year-old Dizzy Dean play Tuesday night at J.P. Hudson Park. Simmerman also did his damage on the mound by giving up four hits in four innings of work.

Dalton Barefoot, Kyle Wiggs, Simmerman, Reid Rushing and Spencer Davis all scored two runs for Coker Air. Barefoot added a RBI double while Wiggs, Rushing and Brice Coker added singles. Kaleb Joyner paced Evans Engineering at the plate with a triple while Anthony Mosconi, Kyle Drewrey and Christian Moore chipped in with singles. Joyner and Anderson Wilder pitched two innings each for Evans Engineering.

In the nightcap, Brandon Henson slammed a inside-the-park homerun and struck out 10 batters on the mound to lead First Security Insurance to a 14-7 win over Duck Hole Farms.

Eli Campbell and Nathan Massey registered two singles each to pace First Security at the plate. Chris Brown, Turner Hudson and Harris Cole added singles in the victory. Luke Noah chipped in with a pair of RBI’s in the winning cause.

Leden Bryan and James Thomas Stennett led Duck Hole Farms with two singles while Garret DeLoach and Justin Hudson contributed with singles. Alex Greenlee, Bryan and DeLoach all scored two runs each.

J.P. Hudson will close out the regular season of play with tonight’s games.
