Watson and Frink place at state track

Some North Delta athletes participated in the state meet held last Saturday. The boys team placed 10th out of 19 teams participating with an overall score of 33.

Jeremiah Watson placed third in the state in the long jump with a distance of 20’2.75”. Watson finished the 100-meter dash in last place with a time of 12.07 seconds. Bobby Muse of Central Private won with a time of 11.10 seconds. He finished behind first place winner Josh Broom of Columbia Academy who had a jump of 21’7.75” and Joey Brock of Marshall Academy in second with a jump of 20’7.25”.

In the triple jump, Ethan Frink also brought home a third place finish with a combined jump of 40’8.50”. He finished behind first place winner Colby Lockwood of Centreville who had a jump of 41’9” and second place winner Quincy Hicks of Glenbrook School who had a jump of 40’11”.

The 4×200-meter relay team finished seventh with a time of 1:39.10. The first place River Oaks team won with a time of 1:33.10. The 4×100-meter relay team also finished seventh with a time of 48.81. Marshall Academy won with a time of 44.94.
